    • Manage a distributed team with several squads of full-stack engineers (Dotnet + React) responsible for maintaining KBRA.com, the KBRA Analytics Premium subscription service, their supporting systems, and numerous integrations.

  • Software Engineering Manager - Urbint, New York, New York.
    July 2021 - April 2022
    • Manage a full-stack software team (Python + React), charged with developing and maintaining Urbint's flagship application, Damage Prevention. Personally responsible for: project and people management; organizing agile ceremonies; coordinating with product, design, and leadership. Consistently met tight deadlines, maintained project plans and estimates, as well as providing guidance to leaders and peers in other engineering domains to further a number company initiatives.
  • Principal Software Engineer - READY Robotics, Columbus, Ohio.
    January 2020 - July 2021
    • Worked on a variety of full-stack, front-end, and UX-related projects. Drove efforts to organize/systematize UX practices into a streamlined process compatible with both the company culture and existing agile procedures. Worked closely with roboticists to translate complex concepts into viable prototypes. Collaborated with product and design teams, helping to balance their needs with engineering resources. Completed multiple Node.js + React projects. Also learned Qt/QML to assist in rewriting existing Python apps, as well as contributing to the architecture and design of the overall UX component system used across applications.

    April 2017 - January 2020
    • DevOps + engineering role, covering maintenance and development in a heterogeneous tech environment, with a focus on Node.js/React/GraphQL/MySQL+PostgreSQL, using a combination of Google and Amazon cloud infrastructures. Also a bit of systems design and scripting where needed, mostly with Python and/or Terraform. Research and maintain best practices for modern front-end development (JavaScript ES6+, React, Webpack, Sass/PostCSS, etc.). Developed automated CI/CD pipeline using Docker, Terraform, and AWS.

    August 2015 - April 2017
    Interesting Projects/Technologies:
    • Developed a mobile/tablet educational survey application for postpartum mothers (Ionic 2, AngularJS 2, Typescript, Python server API). Required significant analysis, developing a touch-based UX design that balanced research needs with highly specific user constraints, and complex data security requirements.
    • Developed a web application to drive mobile check-in kiosks at events (Python server API, Bootstrap/jQuery frontend, load balanced LDAP integration).
    • Extended an online metadata database and web interface for large-scale qualitative research project (Meteor, NodeJS, MongoDB).
    • Developed a mobile application front end for aggregated location-specific data (Python web crawler/server API/Apache CouchDB, Ionic 2/Typescript/PouchDB client app). Client wanted a user friendly, visually appealing mobile app that removed the need for a separate CMS, instead intelligently aggregating content from multiple databases, web properties, and APIs.
    • Systems Integration: co-developed integration between core ERP and a new 3rd party product; developed an automated process to export, convert from proprietary format, and upload all legacy user data to Google Drive (SQL, Python, Google APIs)
